About This Portal

Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), has concluded an enhancement activity to its official portal which is accessible via www.matrade.gov.my in January 2011. The MATRADE’s new portal has been enhanced to be more client-centric, in terms of the approach adopted in the development of the portal as well as its design.

For the first time, in the cause of the development of this portal, MATRADE has obtained valuable inputs and suggestions from a Focus Group comprising the Malaysian exporters, trade-related organisations and the foreign buyers, as well as input from MATRADE's Portal Committee Members. The external parties that have contributed include:

The design of the new portal is more user-friendly and its content has been categorised according to MATRADE’s primary clients.  With these new features and design, it will be easier for the Malaysian exporters and foreign buyers to access information that are relevant to them.

Other than the public access, MATRADE’s Portal also consists of MyExport, which is a dedicated service offered for MATRADE’s members. In MyExport, subscribers are served with info such as Trade Leads, Market Alerts and Product Market Studies. Subscribers are able to update their company’s profile online, post products & services images and also download online reading materials covering topics from exporters development to trade related events.

Vital contents such as the online videos, trade leads, trade financing, exporters success stories, market alerts and industry capabilities are relevant information useful for going global.  The online video, known as MATRADE Tube, features wide range of export-related topics which include  ‘Export Opportunities in Overseas Markets’ and ‘Exporters Development’, presented by MATRADE’s Trade Commissioners and other officers. MATRADE TUBE is planned to create awareness and to deliver product & market information in a more effective and exciting way to the public.

CEO’s Message for Focus Group Workshop On e-Services

The idea of establishing the Focus Group on e-Services was mooted in consistent with MATRADE’s ICT mission of providing innovative ICT solutions to deliver high value services to our stakeholders. To achieve this mission, close interactions and understanding of our valued stakeholders needs are crucial.

MATRADE’s Focus Group on e-Services is opened to anyone and any organisation interested in leveraging ICT as a strategic enabler in strengthening Malaysia’s position as a globally competitive trading nation. The membership of MATRADE’s Focus Group on e-Services, therefore, will be expanded to include other organisations in future, and may varies depending on the focus areas of mutual interests such as e-commerce, e-payment or e-learning.
