Types of Awards
Prime Minister's Industry Excellence Award
The winner of the Prime Minister's Industry Excellence Award will be selected from among the winners of Product Excellence Award, Quality Management Award, Export Excellence Award (Merchandise), Export Excellence Award (Services), Brand Excellence Award (Merchandise) and Brand Excellence Award (Services – Professional and Non Professional).
Product Excellence Award
Category I
Local company with annual sales less than RM10 million.
Category II
Local company with annual sales of RM10 million to RM25 million.
Category III
Local company with annual sales of RM25 million to RM100 million.
Category IV
Local company with annual sales above RM100 million or foreign-owned companies.

Local company with annual sales less than RM10 million.
Category II
Local company with annual sales of RM10 million to RM25 million.

Open (Local company with annual sales turnover exceeding RM 100 million and Multinational company).

Category I
Local company in the Professional/Consultancy services sector (eg. in fields such as Engineering, Architecture, Legal Services, etc.)

Local company in the Construction services sector.
Category IV
Local company in the Information and Communication Technology services sector.
Category V
Open category - Local company for the services sectors not listed in Categories I, II, III and IV.

- Usage of local design/technology/equipment; and

Incentives
1. A trophy and certificate
2. A cash prize of RM50,000 (Fifty Thousand Ringgit) for the winner of Prime Minister’s Industry Excellence Award
3. Eligible to use the Award Logo for publicity purpose for three (3) years from the date of receiving the Award
4. Eligible for tax exemption of 100% of value of increased export (VIE) for winner of Export Excellence Award (Merchandise and Services) or winner of Brand Excellence Award (Merchandise and Services). For the calculation of tax exemption, VIE to be exempted must not exceed 70% of statutory income of current year assessment. If the VIE exceed 70% of statutory income for the current year assessment, the balance or unutilised VIE will be carried forward for the next year assessment and onward until the VIE is fully utilised. Company must have at least 60% Malaysian equity to be eligible for the tax exemption. Any company which is already granted incentives under the Promotion of Investments Act, 1986 (except for deduction for promotion of exports) shall not be eligible for the tax incentive;
5. Exemption from the total participation fees for one (1) complementary standard booth for three (3) international trade fairs or one (1) complementary participation for one (1) person for three (3) mission, subject to a maximum of three (3) cities organised by MATRADE. This incentive must be utilised within three (3) years from the date of receiving the Award;
6. Exemption from the participation fees for exhibition space at the Malaysia Export Exhibition Centre (MEEC) at the MATRADE Headquarters and other MATRADE Trade Centre overseas for one exhibition session. The incentive must be utilised within three (3) years from the date of receiving the Award;
7. To be given publicity by MATRADE offices overseas on the profile of the company together with its products and services;
8. To be featured in MATRADE’s publications and be given space to advertise company’s products/services in MATRADE’s export directory;
9. To be nominated for the Prime Minister’s Industry Excellence Award;
10. To be given 20% discount on any programme organised by MPC;
11. To be given priority soft loan from SME Corp Malaysia
12. Company’s profile and its products/services will be published in Industry Excellence Awards Winners’ Book for distribution to all MITI, MIDA and MATRADE offices overseas as a promotional material;
13. Company’s profile and its products/services will be publicised in the websites of MITI, MPC, MATRADE and SIRIM; and
14. Winners will be publicised in newspapers
NOTES:
( Local companies refer to companies with at least 51% Malaysian equity )
- Participation in the Prime Minister's Industry Excellence Award, Product Excellence Award, Export Excellence Award (Merchandise and Services), Quality Management Excellence Award and Brand Excellence Award (Merchandise and Services) is opened to companies registered under the Company Act, 1965 . Subsidiaries of large companies may apply as separate entities if they are able to provide supportive documents to prove their own organisational corporate identity as reflected in their corporate literature.
- Participation in the Export Excellence Award (Merchandise) and Export Excellence Award (Services) is opened to exporters of local manufactured products and exporters of services who have been in operation for at least three (3) years continuously since 2008.
- Participation in the Product Excellence Award , automatically qualifies for the Special Award for Innovative Product. More than one product is allowed to be submitted for participation.
- Winners for Product Excellence Award are not eligible to participate for the next 3 years with the same product.
- Participation in more than one award is allowed.
- The winners of any award categories will automatically be evaluated and considered for the Prime Minister's Industry Excellence Award.
Presentation of Awards
Industry Excellence Awards 2011 will be presented in 2012.
