Wins 3 Awards at the 8th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO 2011)

At the recently concluded 8th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO 2011) which was held in Nanning, China from October 21 to 26, MATRADE’s efforts in organizing and managing the Malaysia Pavilion was given recognition by the CAEXPO organizer and was awarded the “Country of Honour Memorial” Award, “Best Organisation of Purchasers” Award and the “Best Organisation of Exhibitors” Award.

The basis for the “Country of Honour Memorial” is for the participation of many top Malaysian corporations at CAEXPO eg Sime Darby, Maskargo, Malaysia Airports etc. MATRADE was also credited for the impressive design and prominence of Malaysia Pavilion that befits Malaysia’s status as Country of Honour as well as the innovative display of Brands of Malaysia.

The basis for the “Best Organisation of Exhibitors” Award was for MATRADE's success in organising the exhibitors at the Malaysia Pavilion, which had a defined concept of Malaysia as a modern and progressive trading nation as well as proper segmentation of areas. Exhibitors were grouped into clusters, which were differentiated by design and colour. MATRADE was also credited for showcasing quality Made in Malaysia products and services and the innovative display of Brands of Malaysia.

The basis for the “Best Organisation of Purchasers” Award was for MATRADE's efforts in organising about 600 business meetings with buyers from all over China.

Islamic Solidarity Prize

MATRADE’s outreach and level of services have been recognised internationally. In 2008, MATRADE received international recognition for its excellent service as a national trade promotion agency from the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) and General Chamber of Commerce of Taiwan.

The IDB has awarded MATRADE the prestigious Islamic Solidarity Prize in recognition of its efforts in promoting trade among OIC member nations. Among OIC member states, MATRADE was the first institution to win the prize under the category of trade promotion.

Golden Merchant Award

The General Chamber of Commerce, Taiwan, awarded MATRADE the Golden Merchant Award in 2008 for being an outstanding foreign commercial office. These awards were also in recognition of the dedication of MATRADE’s staff in delivering its services.
