The Ministry of International Trade & Industry
(MITI) annually organizes the Industry Excellence Award
to give recognition to companies for excellence in various
fields, one of which is export. The Export Excellence
Award is given to a company in recognition for its commitment
and efforts in penetrating the export markets as well
as its excellent performance in this pursuit. The Brand
Excellence Award is a special recognition to companies
that have invested in developing Malaysian brands and
are committed to promoting the brand towards becoming
an international brand.
Incentives :
- A trophy and a certificate.
- Eligible to use the award logo of the Award for
publicity purposes for three (3) years from the date
of receiving the award.
- Tax exemption on statutory income equivalent
to 70% of the increased export value in year 2006
for winners of the Merchandise Category (For Malaysian
companies only). Any company already granted incentives
under the Promotion of Investments Act, 1986 (except
for deduction for promotion of exports) can enjoy
all benefits due to the award but shall not be eligible
for fiscal incentives under this award, i.e, 100 per
cent tax exemption on the value of increased exports.
- Exemption from the total participation fees of
RM19,500 for three (3) international trade fairs or
RM 1,500 for three (3) trade missions organised by
MATRADE. This incentive must be utilised within three
(3) years from the date of receiving the award.
- Exemption from the participation fee for exhibition
space at the Malaysia Export Exhibition Centre (MEEC)
at Menara MATRADE, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Trade Centre
Dubai, UAE and Johannesburg, South Africa for one
(1) exhibition session. This incentive must be utilised
within three (3) years of receiving the award.
- To be given publicity by MATRADE offices overseas
on the profile of the company together with its products
and services.
- To be featured in MATRADE's publication and to
be given space to advertise company's products / services
in MATRADES'S export directory.
- To be nominated for the Prime Minister's Quality
Award (with exception of the Export Excellence Award
Services).
- 20% discount on any programme organised by MPC.
- To be given assistance for the production of programmes/special
segments in local media as publicity effort to introduce
the company together with its products and services.
- Company's profile and its products/services will
be publicized in the websites of MITI, MPC, MATRADE
and SIRIM.
- Winners will be publicised in newspapers.
- To be given priority for SMIDEC grant.
MATRADE invites companies that are exporting to participate
in this award. Companies that have already received an award are
not eligible to apply for the same award for three
(3) years.
