National Professional Services
Export Council (NAPSEC)
NAPSEC is the Advisory Council to MATRADE on matters
pertaining to the export of professional services. The
Council formed in 2001, complements the Professional
Services Development Corporation (PSDC) which is tasked
with the role of capacity building for the professional
services sector.
Its members comprise representatives from professional
councils and associations as well as government ministries
/.agencies that relate to professional services. NAPSEC
members meet every quarterly in MATRADE to discuss the
export development and strategies to enhance the export
of Malaysian professional services.
NAPSEC is represented by;
Among NAPSEC's terms of reference are to ;
- formulate and review national strategies and promotional
programmes for the export of professional services
- recommend and facilitate funding for the export
of professional services
- increase participation of Malaysian professionals
in overseas projects funded by international lending
agencies
- gather and disseminate information related to market
opportunities
- review and recommend incentives for the export of
professional services
- compile database/directories of export ready professional
services
- develop database on market access issues and regulations
affecting export of professional services
- monitor global developments and its implications
on Malaysia's professional services export.
Projects in Collaboration With NAPSEC
Working in collaboration with NAPSEC members, MATRADE
charts its strategies for the export of Malaysian professional
services. This , includes participation in services
related international trade fairs, organizing specialized
marketing missions in targeted markets which includes
scheduling meetings between Malaysian services providers
and their potential business partners as well as organizing
solo exhibitions on Malaysian services sectors..
Amongst the recent major projects are;
- Publishing of a "Excellence In Construction
and Design" a book which showcases the best of
Malaysian capability and expertise in the construction
and its related industry which was launched in January
2008
- Organising of a Malaysia Services Exhibition in
Sharjah, United Arab Emirates from January 13 - 15,
2008 where 168 Malaysian services companies/ councils,
associations and government agencies showcased the
export potential of 11 industry clusters.
