112 // MATRADE Annual Report 2019 PURPOSE 7 PROVIDING SPECIFIC SUPPORT Services Export Fund (SEF) is a reimbursement grant for Malaysian Service Providers (MSPs). Subject to type of grant, the support aims to expand exports and execute exploration activities in foreign markets. Maximum grant available for each company is RM5 million for the period 2015-2020 subject to the maximum amount for each activity. MATRADE provides specific support to Malaysian companies through training programmes, market intelligence, grants and incentives to prepare companies penetrate the export market. Seminars and workshops are organised to nurture new exporters and update existing exporters on trade developments and business opportunities in international markets. The support available for exporters also involves advocating for Malaysian interests in trade negotiations. Through its network of domestic offices, MATRADE also provides advisory assistance to service exporters. Its trade offices around the world advise and assist Malaysian exporters on matters relating to trade and industry and match them with relevant foreign buyers who seek to acquire Malaysian products and services. In addition, they organise inward buying missions where individual business meetings with Malaysian businesses are arranged in conjunction with these buying missions. MATRADE also organises INSPs in Malaysa where business meetings are arranged between Malaysian exporters with importers. MATRADE also responds to trade enquiries received from the business communities including importers. MATRADE assists digitisation of exports by providing grants and funds for Malaysian companies to promote their products and services in global markets through listings in international eCommerce platforms. MATRADE also provides specific support through grants and funds.to enable Malaysian products and services to penetrate international markets. This support strengthens companies’ competitiveness and increases export promotion activities. SEF’s objective is to increase competitiveness of MSPs enhance accessibility and expand exports in international markets. It aids in expanding the scope of export promotions for better market access and opportunities to export services as well as improve the branding profile of Malaysian exports internationally as a competent and preferred service provider.
