126 // MATRADE Annual Report 2019 Efforts taken by MATRADE Milan included organising business meetings with potential importers during trade and investment missions to Italy and Spain organised by the state governments of Melaka, Sarawak and Johor. MATRADE Moscow promoted and supported Malaysia’s exports to Russia by identifying opportunities and demands to be disemminated to Malaysian exporters. Potential sectors are, E&E, halal food & beverage, rubber-based products, medical devices, building materials, palm oil- based products, machinery & equipment, aerospace and franchise. In 2019, MATRADE Moscow collaborated with Russian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to coordinate the first Joint Russia- Malaysia Commission for Economic, Scientific, Technical and Culture Cooperation (JCESTC). The session was co-chaired by the Minister of Industry and Trade, Russia and Minister of Economic Affairs, Malaysia. In 2019, MATRADE Moscow coordinated programmes in Moscow organised by several agencies and associations. Among participants were six companies from Malaysian Franchise Association (MFA) which participated at Buybrand Expo (Pavilion Malaysia) and MREPC at Zdravookhraneniye 2019 (International Health Exhibition). The office also received a working visit from MREPC Rotterdam and MPOB Brussels. The focus in 2019 was to promote medical devices, chemicals for cosmetics, raw materials for food manufacturing, rubber products for the medical and automotive industries, wood- based products and building materials. MATRADE Warsaw cooperated with MPOC, Malaysian Timber Council (MTC) and the Timber Export Association Malaysia (TEAM) to organise promotional activities in Poland, particularly through participation in exhibitions and trade missions. MATRADE Warsaw assisted Manufacturers Association & Bumiputra Services Industry Malaysia (PPIPBM) in organising a trade fair and coordinating business meetings in Bosnia and Herzegovina. MATRADE Warsaw also assisted in coordinating trade and investment mission programmes and official visits organised by the MOA, MPI, Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives and Penang State Government, in Poland and Hungary. MATRADE Warsaw further coordinated two roundtable meetings with the Polish-Asian Chamber of Commerce and Polish Chamber of Commerce to promote bilateral trade.
