OUR PRIORITY MATRADE is focused in carrying and delivering four core services. They are: EXPORTER DEVELOPMENT Assist and generate opportunities for Malaysian companies to raise export sales and grow their businesses on an international scale. We offer advisory services to Malaysian companies particularly Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) organising export seminars and targeted training programmes. This equips exporters and the business community with the right knowledge and skills to address international expectations on technology, design, packaging, health and safety. DRIVING EXPORT MATRADE assists Malaysian companies penetrate international markets, participate in international trade fairs (ITF), export acceleration missions (EAM) as well as trade and investment missions (TIM). We also organise business matching programmes between Malaysian companies and importers. As the nation’s trade promotional organisation, MATRADE is the reference point for international trade enquiries and foreign buyer visits to Malaysia. MATRADE plays a pivotal role with suitable Malaysian companies in driving exports. MARKETING AND TRADE INFORMATION MATRADE provides local and international insights, market intelligence and information on market conditions, products, tariffs, regulations and trade statistics. We also offer access to international trade publications and market research on a wide range of product and service sectors as well as online access to databases. These services are accessible from MATRADE’s Business Information Centre (BIC), MATRADE’s portal, My Export as well as widely circulated online publications. ADVISORY AND ASSISTANCE SERVICES MATRADE’s Export Advisory Unit provides current information on the export framework as well as market insights on products and services with global high demand. OUR PURPOSES The eight main purposes of MATRADE are summed up as to promote and grow exports from Malaysia. These purposes are listed below. 1. Facilitate access to foreign markets through various strategic programmes including export acceleration missions, trade investment missions and trade fairs. 2. Digitalise exports through initiatives such as eTRADE to promote the adoption of e-commerce and acceleration of exports through participation in international e-marketplaces. 3. Provide market intelligence for exporters to stay ahead of their competitors with timely updates on a wide range of business information that can help provide a competitive edge. 4. Support national export plans in line with MATRADE’s catalytic role in Malaysia’s aspiration to achieve a developed-nation status by 2020. 5. Build export readiness through MATRADE’s 12 touchpoint programmes to develop Malaysian exporters. 6. Build linkages to connect local exporters to foreign buyers and markets, through MATRADE’s 46 trade offices overseas as well as collaborations with third parties. 7. Provide specialised support to help export business of particularly small and medium enterprises. 8. Strengthen Brand Malaysia through multiple means and channels.
