OUR CUSTOMERS: MATRADE has a database of over 25,000 companies, that encompassing larger corporations, mid-tier companies, SMEs, micro manufacturers and service providers. RAISING EXPORT POTENTIAL: Collectively, MATRADE’s exporter development programme to raise export potential has benefitted approximately 15,000 exporters through various activities held throughout the year. TRADE ENQUIRIES: In 2019, MATRADE received almost 39,000 enquiries. EXPORT PROMOTIONAL ACTIVITIES: 24 International Trade Fairs 28 Export Acceleration Missions 13 International Sourcing Programmes 15 Trade & Investment Missions 24 Trade Promotional Visits 16 Promotion Booths 2,686 participating Malaysian companies RESOURCE CENTRE: MATRADE’s Business Information Centre (BIC) possesses a collection of approximately 22,000 physical resource and reference materials as well as nine online databases which is accessible to stakeholders. TOTAL TRADE: Total trade decreased by 2.1% to RM1.844 trillion while maintaining a worth over RM1 trillion consecutively for the last 10 years. GLANCE AT 2019 EXPORT Exports decreased by 0.8% to RM995.07 billion recording the second highest in trade value. IMPORT Imports declined by 3.5% to RM849.41 billion. TRADE SURPLUS Trade surplus increased by 17.7% to RM145.66 billion reflecting the highest surplus to date.
