Sustaining Export Development MATRADE Core Purpose // 99 The Construction Industry Transformation Programme (CITP) (2016-2020) is the national agenda to transform Malaysia’s construction industry in becoming more productive, environmentally sustainable, globally competitive as well as renowned for quality standards. To achieve this, CITP focuses on four core strategies; namely to improve quality, safety & professionalism, drive productivity, create environment sustainability and enhance internationalisation. MATRADE as the national trade promotion agency supports this initiative, especially its fourth strategic thrust which is internationalisation by assisting Malaysian companies to promote construction related goods and services overseas. To achieve this purpose in 2019, Malaysian companies participated in several export promotion programmes, notably international exhibitions such as, Big 5 Dubai (UAE), Worldbex Manila (Philippines) and Acetech Delhi (India). MATRADE also assisted to increase usage of local resources in international construction projects, namely Battersea (UK) and New Clark City (Philippines). MATRADE also helped Malaysian companies explore opportunities in the construction sector abroad through assistance in conducting feasibility studies for Eco-Satellite City in Kampala (Uganda) and Aerotropolis City (Swaziland) projects. CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY TRANSFORMATION PROGRAMME In ensuring the success of the seventh strategy of the Malaysia Aerospace Industry Blueprint (MAIB) 2030, MATRADE is the permanent committee member of the Malaysia Aerospace and Selangor Aerospace Councils. MATRADE has also implemented export promotion programmes to assist Malaysian aerospace companies explore international markets and join the global industrial supply chain. Among the programmes in 2019 were: • International Sourcing Programme (INSP) & Global Procurement Sourcing Programme (GPSP) in conjunction with Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) 2019 (27 to 28 March 2019); • Aeromart Montreal 2019, Canada (16 to 18 April 2019); • International Paris Air Show 2019 (17 to 23 June 2019); and • Aeromart Nagoya 2019, Japan (24 to 26 September 2019). The Malaysian delegation was led by YB Minister of MITI accompanied by the YB Minister of Defense during the International Paris Air Show (IPAS) in France ENHANCING NATIONAL EXPORT PLAN
