53 MATRADE Core Objectives MATRADE Annual Report 2022 MATRADE successfully executed INSP in conjunction with the Oil and Gas Asia Exhibition (OGA) x Malaysia Oil and Gas Services Exhibition and Conference (MOGSEC). This event stands as the most comprehensive platform supporting the oil, gas, energy, and petrochemical sectors in Southeast Asia. The INSP was conducted through collaboration with 10 MATRADE offices located in Los Angeles, Mexico City, São Paulo, Frankfurt, Warsaw, Guangzhou, Chennai, Jakarta, Yangon, and Hanoi. A total of 25 business meetings were successfully organised, engaging 16 Malaysian companies and 21 foreign buyers from a diverse range of countries, including the United States, Australia, Bangladesh, China, Germany, Guyana, Indonesia, Mexico, Myanmar, Poland, Qatar, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Sudan, and Vietnam. These buyers boast extensive networks in the oil, gas, and chemical sectors. Numerous products and services demonstrated high demand from these buyers, including stearic acid, calcium stearate, biodiesel, christmas tree/wellhead valves, valves and actuators, ball valve closures, metal seated SGV (slab gate valves), valves for petroleum and jet fuel projects, valves for pipelines, and construction, repair, and maintenance scopes for ships. MATRADE made its inaugural appearance at KIOGE 2022, hosted at the Atakent Exhibition Centre in Almaty, Kazakhstan. This event stands as the largest and most influential international trade exhibition in Central Asia’s oil and gas sector. The exhibition encompassed 13 industry sectors, including geology, geography, processing, oil and gas engineering, transportation, and others. A total of 196 companies participated in the exhibition, representing countries such as Kazakhstan, Russia, Malaysia, Bahrain, and more. The Malaysian pavilion welcomed the participation of 10 highly reputable Malaysian companies, aiming to explore business opportunities through the KIOGE 2022 platform. Additionally, the presence of the Malaysian pavilion sought to identify business potential in the Kazakhstan and Central Asian markets, while strengthening trade relations between Malaysia and Kazakhstan. Over the course of the three-day program, 57 successful business matching sessions were organised. Furthermore, 206 trade inquiries were received, with 431 business contacts established. These interactions generated potential sales valued at RM109,869,921.72 (USD25,540,000). Notably, sustainable chemical products, switchboards, asset integrity services, consultancy, and large-scale solar integration garnered significant attention from attendees.
