74 TOWARDS THE FUTURE OF SUSTAINABLE EXPORTS MATRADE’s Exporters Training Programme equips Malaysian companies with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the global market, with the aim of enhancing competitiveness and sustainability, enabling them to expand their markets. Throughout 2022, a total of 47 training programmes were conducted in the form of webinars, seminars and online workshops, attracting 6,046 companies. Of the 47 programmes, 24 were focused on exploring the global market through knowledge-sharing sessions with MATRADE Trade Commissioners. Seventeen training programmes discussed market opportunities in sectors like professional services, construction, and digitalisation. To cater to the more specific requirements of exporters, MATRADE organised six training programmes covering topics such as labelling, packaging, branding, certification, business financing, and MATRADE grants. To ensure the success of these programmes, MATRADE collaborated with various stakeholders, including multinational technology companies, e-commerce platform providers, government agencies, professional service providers, trade associations, and financial institutions. Notable entities involved in this collaboration were the Royal Malaysian Customs Department, the Malaysian Standards Department (JSM), the Intellectual Property Corporation (MyIPO), the Malaysian Design Council (MRM), Majlis Perundingan Melayu (MPM), Exim Bank, Bank Islam, Affin Bank Berhad, Dagang Net Technologies Sdn Bhd, Digital Perak Corporation Holdings, Shorages Fulfilment Centre Dubai, and Tadeling Group. Recognising the importance of continuous learning, MATRADE introduced its virtual learning platform, MATRADE Digital Learning (MDL) on 8 September, officiated by the former Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob. The virtual platform offers the flexibility to learn at any time, without the need for a physical event. The platform is aimed at providing comprehensive knowledge and skills development resources to Malaysian businesses, especially MSMEs. It offers 13 practical modules, one of which was co-developed with Google. Exporters Training Programme 2022 Objective 5 EXPORTER TRAINING
