76 TOWARDS THE FUTURE OF SUSTAINABLE EXPORTS X-SEED’s GlobPreneur programme was launched by the Prime Minister on 17 March 2021 as an initiative under PEMERKASA. GlobPreneur is a collaborative initiative between MATRADE and the state governments of Sabah, Sarawak, Pahang, Kelantan, Terengganu, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Perak, Kedah, and Perlis. By developing export potential and stimulating ready-to-export companies in these states, the gaps and imbalances in exports with Selangor, Johor, and Penang can be addressed. This programme comprises four main activities: i. Intake - Outreach targeting SMEs with potential and work with state governments and agencies to identify and evaluate the companies’ capabilities in joining the programme. ii. Diagnostic & Capacity Development: - To help both established and emerging companies formulate export strategies and provide relevant training through MATRADE’s capacity development programmes with modules in innovation, commercialisation, research and development, and sustainability. iii. Market penetration - Export promotion and market penetration programmes tailor-made for the selected SMEs. iv. Impact Value, Feedback and Reporting - To ensure the companies are on track to meeting their export objectives.
