91 Management, Integrity, Internal Audit and Strategic Planning MATRADE Annual Report 2022 In 2022, the Public Service Department (JPA) certified eight MATRADE officers and staff members as new members of AKRAB, while three members retired, resulting in a total active membership of 22 individuals. Apart from peer mentoring sessions, AKRAB also organises motivational lectures and programmes. One of the highlighted programmes in 2022 was MATRADE Health Day 2022, held in To ensure effective planning, management, and development of human resources, the Human Resource Management Unit (UPSM) is responsible for matters related to position filling, service affairs, employee performance, and career advancement.. 1. Staff Planning In 2022, a total of 615 MATRADE employees served domestically and internationally. The staffing process was carried out to ensure adequacy of workforce and to minimise disruption to organisational plans. 2. Officer Retirement In 2022, there were 13 voluntary retirements and 13 forced retirements. MATRADE extends its gratitude to these retirees for their contributions and dedicated service throughout their tenure in the organisation. 3. Officer Transfers at Foreign Offices In 2022, 13 officers were posted as Trade Commissioners, while nine (9) Trade Commissioners were cross-posted to other locations. Additionally, 11 officers from the headquarters were posted as Assistant Trade Commissioners, and one (1) officer was cross-posted. After completing their tenure abroad, 11 Trade Commissioners and three Assistant Trade Commissioners were recalled. HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT collaboration with the National Blood Centre, Kepong Health Centre, and Dahlia Medical Group. This programme included a blood donation drive, general health check-up, cancer screening, mental health screening, physiotherapy, and health lectures. In total, 236 members of the MATRADE community participated in this event held at the headquarters. MATRADE places significant emphasis on human resource development in line with its vision and mission. The organisation implements talent development initiatives based on the needs analysis and performance assessment management, while integrating MATRADE’s core values of: Global, Respect, Agile, Creative, and Ethical (GRACE). In 2022, human resource development received a total allocation of RM478,560 to foster the growth of a skilled and highperforming workforce. This investment aimed at enhancing the COMPETENCY AND TALENT DEVELOPMENT effectiveness and efficiency of service delivery for all stakeholders. Throughout the year, a holistic roster of 51 talent development programmes was organised, either virtually or in person. These programmes covered a wide range of focus areas, including jobrelated technical skills and general skills designed to enhance employees’ capabilities. Additionally, several spiritual programs were also conducted to strengthen the character and identity of employees. By equipping employees with the necessary skills, knowledge, and opportunities for personal growth, MATRADE empowers its workforce to excel in their respective roles and make significant contributions towards the achievement of the organisation’s goals.
