MIDA assists companies which intend to invest in the manufacturing and services sectors, as well as facilitates the implementation of their projects. The wide range of services provided by MIDA includes providing informa- tion on the opportunities for investments, as well as facilitating companies which are looking for joint venture partners. MIDA also evaluates applica- tions for manufacturing licenses, tax incentives, expatriate posts, duty exemptions on raw materials and components, as well as duty exemptions on machinery and equipment projects in the manufacturing and its related services sectors. MIDA established PACU@MIDA or the Project Acceleration and Coordination Unit, part of the Government’s bold initiatives to ensure impactful accomplishments that can revitalise the economy and bring tangible benefits to all stakeholders. This proactive unit is tasked to provide end-to-end facilitation to all projects approved by the National Committee of Investment (NCI), enabling the timely implementation of investment projects in the country. As Malaysia’s principal investment promotion and development agency, MIDA has been mandated to promote investments from all countries including China that meet the national investment agenda.
