with regulatory requirements. Malaysia’s
membership in the prestigious
Pharmaceutical Inspection Convention
and Pharmaceutical Inspection Co-
operation Scheme (PIC/S) is testament to
the high pharmaceutical manufacturing
standards adopted by local players.
As the only OIC (Organisation of The
Islamic Conference) country with PIC/S
membership, Malaysia already has
the competitive edge to capture the
lucrative halal market.
In the meantime, Malaysia has already
rolled out a string of initiatives to plug
any capability or capacity gaps. Looking
at the solid foundation it has built
for developing, manufacturing and
supply of pharmaceutical and health
supplements within a short time, there is
every indication that Malaysia will be a
future global powerhouse in the industry.
