WEDNESDAY, 19 FEBRUARY 2020, KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) has announced the postponement of its Halal trade fair – the 17th Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) 2020 - to 1 to 4 September 2020 as a measure to safeguard the health and safety of MIHAS 2020 participants and exhibitors in view of COVID-19 global outbreak.

The decision was made following the feedback gathered by MATRADE, which is MIHAS organiser, from MIHAS 2020 exhibitors who have expressed their wish for the iconic trade fair to be rescheduled. MIHAS 2020’s initial date was 1 to 4 April 2020. The change of date also took into account the trends of trade fairs around the world that opted to reschedule their events.

According the Ministry of Health, National Disaster Management Agency and various other ministries and agencies, the COVID-19 situation in Malaysia remains under control. The health situation is being managed by the Ministry of Health, National Disaster Management Agency and various other ministries and agencies under a committee chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato' Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
