WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 20, 2021, KUALA LUMPUR: Amid ongoing pandemic challenges, MATRADE continues intensify its promotion efforts for Malaysian companies to penetrate global market. From 18th to 22nd of October 2021, MATRADE together with the German Association for Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Logistics (BME) is organising a virtual Export Acceleration Mission (EAM) to Germany for Malaysian companies in the machinery & equipment (M&E) sector.

The main objective of the mission is to showcase Malaysia’s M&E industry’s capabilities to German companies, offering them opportunities to network with Malaysian suppliers. The mission’s programmes comprise a webinar on market opportunities in Germany, to be followed with a business pitching session by Malaysian companies and a series of pre-arranged virtual business meetings (eBizMatch). Due to the pandemic, the event will be held in a virtual format, witnessing 18 participating Malaysian companies from various M&E segments, comprising mechanical engineering, metal, casting, plastic and welded constructions.

“During the meeting held with BME in Frankfurt, Germany on 13 October 2021, BME expressed their commitment to work closely with MATRADE in fostering business linkages for their members to source from Malaysia as a producer of quality machinery parts, components and solutions to German companies to support their industrial engineering, product design and technology development as well as business operations across the globe. Germany is the world’s leading supplier of machinery, with industry’s annual turnover of EUR 220 billion which serves as an important export market for Malaysian M&E manufacturers”, said YB Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, Senior Minister and Minister of International Trade and Industry who is currently leading a Trade and Investment Mission to Europe.

â€œFor MATRADE, we see this collaboration with BME as timely, with our enabling roles to provide a seamless sourcing experience for companies to move forward during this challenging period”, said Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz, Chief Executive Officer of MATRADE.

The virtual EAM will feature prominent Malaysian M&E players such as Tonasco, Swift Bridge Technologies, UWC Industrial, SP Teams and Newbillion Precision Metal. German participating companies in the event include Maschinenfabrik Gerd Mosca, SULO Deutschland and Siegenia Group.
