MATRADE to Participate in CIIE 2025 and Signs MoU to Boost Trade Relations
KUALA LUMPUR, 24 FEBRUARY 2025, (MONDAY) – The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) is set to participate in the China International Import Expo (CIIE) 2025, scheduled to take place from 5-10 November in Shanghai, China. This prestigious event provides a key platform for Malaysian businesses to showcase their products and expand their market presence in China, thereby enhancing their global competitiveness.
In conjunction with this participation, MATRADE has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the China International Import Expo Bureau (CIIE Bureau) to solidify trade relations between Malaysia and China. The signing took place at the 8th CIIE Promo Conference held at EQ Hotel here in Kuala Lumpur, symbolizing both parties' commitment to fostering closer bilateral trade ties and improving market access for Malaysian exporters.
The MoU was signed by MATRADE’s Deputy CEO, Mr Abu Bakar Yusof while CIIE was represented by its General Manager of Exhibition Department of CIIE, Mr Fang Hui. The signing was witnessed by Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Ouyang Yujing, YBhg. Datuk Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz, CEO of MATRADE and Mr Wu Zhengping, Executive Director General of CIIE.
Additionally, in an exciting development, the Malaysian International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) will also be held in conjunction with CIIE. Following the successful organization of MIHAS for the first time in Dubai under MIHAS internationalization initiatives, this exhibition aims to further promote Malaysian products and services in the China market.
