MATRADE Confirms Status of Malaysian Kitchen Programme’s Ambassador
Wednesday, March 16th, 2016, Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) in a statement confirmed that Ms Christina Arokiasamy who is based in the United States (US) is no longer associated with its Malaysian Kitchen Programme (MKP) or any of MATRADE’s other programmes.
MATRADE, however confirmed that Ms Arokiasamy was appointed as Malaysia’s food ambassador for the US market under the patronage of MKP and the appointment took effect on 1 October 2013 till 30 September 2014. Ms Arokiasamy through her In Spice Productions LLC was then appointed as MKP’s USA website maintenance and social media promotion service provider from 1 March until 31 December 2015. Her contract was never renewed and there is no longer any collaboration between MATRADE and Ms Arokiasamy.
MKP was managed by MATRADE from 2009 till 2015 and its objective was to brand Malaysia through its cuisine and supporting the entrance of Malaysian food products to targeted markets such as the US, United Kingdom, China and Australia. The programme ended in 2015.
