AVIALITE is a specialist manufacturer of LED aviation obstruction beacons (OB) and warning lights, used for obstacle marking of telecommunication towers, high buildings, and transmission lines for aviation safety purposes. The company has been awarded Pioneer Status by MIDA for being the first local manufacturer of aviation lighting technology using LEDs in Malaysia. AVIALITE received the prestigious 1-InnoCERT Manufacturing Category Award in 2014, and was one of the top five finalists in the Malaysian National Intellectual Property Award in 2010. These awards have been some of the recognition received for pioneering effort, unique and innovative product design, product quality, and competitiveness in the global market. Today they market more than 60% of their product overseas, with major customers including include Ericsson, Nokia-Siemen-Network, Telekom Malaysia, and major telecommunications companies.
With the boom of telecommunications and the aviation industry, aviation safety should be regarded as a foremost priority. Department of Civil Aviation (DCA), International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) safety standards and regulations help promote safer skies for all. The challenge is to mark all tall buildings, telecommunication towers and other potentially impeding structures with the appropriate and approved aviation obstruction lighting for aviation safety purposes. Buildings, towers, or structures above 45m require the use of Medium Intensity Lights for night marking. AVIALITE products are compact, lightweight, and waterproof, ensuring the product will function safely and for a longer duration.AVIALITE ventured into exporting during their first year of business. They recognized that the global market would offer many more opportunities for growth. They first introduced their products to Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines. Because aviation lighting is such a niche market, it took a long time for international relationships to develop, but through hard work, effort and persistence, the company gained their first export contracts. Today they serve both international and local customers.
The company was sustained at first by international customers, and still exports the majority of their products today. Customers recognize the durability of their products overall. AVIALITE’s products are waterproof and can withstand harsher conditions often found atop tall buildings and communication towers, making the product more efficient and ensuring greater air traffic safety.
