THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 24, 2016 MALACCA: Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) organised its signature business matching initiative - International Sourcing Programme (INSP) in Malacca today in an effort to promote Malaysian products and services to international buyers. The event took place in conjunction with Satu Daerah Satu Industri Showcase 2016 by Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI).

The INSP which took place at The Pines Hotel in Malacca hosted more than 94 Malaysian participants and 24 foreign companies from Hong Kong, China, Myanmar, Korea, Japan, Saudi Arabia, the Philippines and Viet Nam. Among the sectors highlighted included food and beverages, manufacturing, construction, consultation, personal care and pharmaceutical, among many others.

The INSP is one of MATRADE’s high impact and cost effective export promotion activities aimed at helping Malaysian players meet with potential business partners from around the world. Via this effort, Malaysian companies were able to save travelling cost and negotiate business deals at the comfort of their own country.

The SDSI Showcase starts from 24th to 26th November 2016 and offers exhibition, seminars and business clinics. The event is also a platform to promote entrepreneurial activities and to build the capacity of Malaysian companies particularly Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to be more competitive in both domestic and global business.

This year, MATRADE as Malaysia’s export promotion agency is organising 150 programme comprising 85 export promotion activities and 65 capacity building programme.
