In the last decade, Malaysia has made significant strides in the machinery industry. With the
rapid development of the country’s manufacturing sector, Malaysia has established itself as
the leading ASEAN manufacturer of automation M&E for the electrical and electronics (E&E)
industry, among other achievements. Cognizant of M&E’s potential as an economic driver
- M&E are used in virtually every economic sector - the government has targeted a total of
RM30.8 billion in investments for this high-growth sector during the Industrial Master Plan 3
(IMP3, 2006-2020), with particular focus on high value-added and high-technology product
segments.
We believe that there is no better time for global firms to forge links with competent Malaysian
firms for collaborative ventures as they would complement each other’s strengths, resources
and competencies.
