KUALA LUMPUR, 30 SEPTEMBER 2025 (TUESDAY) – Malaysian exhibitors participating in Construction Indonesia 2025 collectively recorded a total sale of RM123.26 million. The achievement underscores the strong demand for Malaysian solutions in Indonesia’s fast-growing construction market.
Held from 10 to 13 September 2025 at the Jakarta International Expo (JIEXPO), the Malaysia pavilion was led by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE). Twelve Malaysian companies and one (1) government agency, Jabatan Landskap Negara (JLN), showcased a wide range of innovative solutions, including road additives, construction software, formworks, soil testing, waterproofing, erosion control, playground equipment, arboriculture services and urban landscaping technologies. Over the four-day event, participants engaged in more than 100 business meetings with Indonesian stakeholders, including buyers, distributors and project partners.
The Malaysia Pavilion, was officially launched by H.E. Dato’ Syed Mohamad Hasrin Tengku Hussin, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of Indonesia. MATRADE complemented the showcase with pre-arranged business matching sessions, networking programmes and media engagements to enhance Malaysian exhibitors’ visibility and market outreach.
According to Dato’ Sri Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MATRADE, the strong sales recorded at Construction Indonesia underscore the competitiveness and resilience of Malaysian companies. “Indonesia’s construction industry is among the fastest-growing in the region, projected to reach RM1.87 trillion by 2030. This offers tremendous opportunities not only in infrastructure and building materials but also in sustainable urban development and landscaping”.
He added, “MATRADE is committed to helping Malaysian companies forge stronger partnerships in Indonesia and position Malaysia as a trusted partner in shaping the country’s future cities and infrastructure. By providing innovative and sustainable solutions, our exporters help contribute to greener urban spaces and more resilient communities, in line with Indonesia’s development agenda.”
Malaysia’s landscaping expertise also attracted strong interest at the exhibition. With Indonesia’s rapid urbanisation and emphasis on sustainable city planning, demand for urban greening and landscaping solutions is expected to increase. Malaysia’s strengths in this area are well aligned with Indonesia’s priorities in building liveable and sustainable cities for future generations.
Malaysia’s exports of building materials to Indonesia reached RM1.43 billion in 2024, with several product categories showing strong growth. Manufactures of plastics export surged 36.4% to RM227.9 million, while metal products climbed 14.7% to RM264 million. These positive gains reflect Malaysia’s capability to supply innovative, high-quality, and sustainable construction solutions that align with Indonesia’s evolving market needs.
