MIHAS Awards 2025 Returns
KUALA LUMPUR, 30 JULY 2025 – The 12th Malaysia International Halal Showcase Awards (MIHAS Awards) returns in 2025, continuing its mission to recognise outstanding achievements in the global Halal sector.
Organised by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), the nominations for this year’s awards which spotlights innovation and sustainability is currently open to all credible Malaysian exporters in the local halal ecosystem. The awards will be held in conjunction with MIHAS 2025, which takes place from 17 to 20 September 2025, with the MIHAS Awards scheduled on 20 September 2025.
The awards feature two main categories: the MIHAS Products and Services Excellence Award, which honours strong export performance, product/service quality, digitalisation, brand strength, and CSR impact; and the MIHAS Innovation & Sustainability Award, which recognises businesses that embed ESG values and the UN Sustainable Development Goals into their operations. The MIHAS Awards committee has also introduced a new Emerging Star Award category, highlighting promising newcomers driving potential and positive impact in the halal space.
Participation offers more than just the chance to win; it provides global exposure, boosts brand credibility and opens doors to new markets. Participants will have an opportunity to demonstrate leadership in Halal innovation, sustainability and integrity, while aligning with Malaysia’s push to shape a more inclusive and resilient global Halal economy.
MATRADE Chairman Dato’ Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican said:
“The MIHAS Awards continue to be a powerful platform to honour the visionary businesses shaping the future of the global Halal economy. In 2025, we are proud to once again recognise companies that not only meet the highest Halal standards but also lead through innovation, sustainability and social impact. These awards reflect MATRADE’s unwavering commitment to advancing Malaysia’s leadership in the Halal industry, while fostering inclusive and sustainable trade on the global stage.”
Reflecting on last year’s achievements, MATRADE Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Sri Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz said:
“Last year’s Awards celebrated 14 outstanding winners, reflecting the strength and diversity of the Halal sector. This year, we welcome even greater participation as we also shine a spotlight on the emerging Halal industry players who could exceptionally demonstrate innovation, integrity and excellence that define Malaysia’s Halal industry. Together, we can inspire more businesses to adopt Halal principles and strengthen Malaysia’s position as a global Halal leader.”
Last year’s 14 winners — from Adabi’s Halal-certified pet food to AFM Fulfillment’s e-commerce solutions — showcased the sector’s diversity and strength. This year is encouraging both established leaders and rising stars to share their stories and inspire excellence across the Halal landscape.
Winners are selected by a distinguished panel of industry and academic experts through a rigorous evaluation of quality, sustainability, impact and Halal compliance.
