MATRADE Organises Talk to Improve Awareness on Standards Among Medical Devices Companies
Tuesday, May 17th, 2016, Kuala Lumpur: In an effort to improve awareness on the standards required for Malaysian medical devices companies to be top regional and global suppliers, Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) is organising a seminar titled “Competing In Regulated Industry-Complying with Global Regulatory Requirementâ€, and a Workshop on "Conformity Assessment And Quality Systems In Asian Jurisdictions" today.
Taking place at Menara MATRADE, the seminar which starts from 8.30am to 5pm, provides an avenue for Malaysian entrepreneurs in the medical devices industry and related industries to understand what it takes to successful exporters. During the seminar, the participants are exposed to:
• the rules and support of the government in registration and certification process and;
• the availability of testing, regulation and certification services in Malaysia as a catalyst to exporting
Apart from enhancing their networks, the seminar also allows the companies and Multinational Corporations to learn more about the Government’s initiatives in supporting this booming industry.
Meanwhile, the workshop takes place from 2pm till 5pm and is conducted by Mr Tony Low, Director of Continuing Medtech Education of Medsociate Sdn Bhd – the appointed authorised training provider and secretariat for the Association of Malaysian Medical Industries (AMMI). Similarly, the workshop is attended by companies keen to improve their understanding on the industry’s requirement.
According to MATRADE’s Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Dzulkifli Mahmud, “Both the seminar and workshop help create a platform for entrepreneurs particularly exporters to interact and network directly with MATRADE and other agencies under Ministry of International Trade & Industry, banking officials and others. This will help inform Malaysian companies of the facilitation available for them to grow their export of medical devices.â€
