In the last decade Malaysia has achieved
significant progress in the franchise industry.
It has now developed into one of the fastest
growing sectors in the country.
Regulated by the Malaysian Franchise Act
1998, with a well structured system that
adheres to international system, Malaysian
franchising is well accepted and can be easily
implemented overseas.
As the national trade promotion agency,
MATRADE is in line with its long term objective
to develop initiatives and organise activities to
promote Malaysian franchises overseas. Through Malaysian franchises abroad,
more products and services from Malaysia can be marketed internationally
contributing to growth of exports of the country. To date, 58 Franchise brands
have penetrated to 53 countries totaling 1,992 outlets.
MATRADE in collaboration with Malaysia Franchise Association is pleased to
publish the
Malaysia Exporters of Franchising Directory
. I believe this directory
will serve as a comprehensive source of information for potential business
partners both locally and internationally.
