MATRADE to Showcase Malaysia's Healthcare Excellence at Arab Health 2025
KUALA LUMPUR, 21 JANUARY 2025 (TUESDAY): The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) is coordinating the participation of 11 Malaysian companies at Arab Health 2025, one of the world's prominent healthcare exhibitions. The 50th edition of Arab Health is set to take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) from 27 - 30 January 2025 under the theme “Where the World of Healthcare Meets”.
The Malaysian Pavilion will feature a diverse range of cutting-edge technologies, services and solutions. Exhibitors will showcase innovative medical devices, queue management systems, pharmaceuticals products, health supplements, IV solutions and advancements in biotechnology.
Khairul Nizam Moonier, Director of the Lifestyle and Life Sciences Section, emphasised the importance of the event as a platform to elevate Malaysia’s standing in the global healthcare sector and to position Malaysia as a leading hub for sustainable exports. He stated “As the national trade promotion agency, MATRADE drives initiatives to equip exporters with insights into ESG compliance, including forced labour mitigation, carbon neutrality, and meeting consumer expectations for sustainable products. This reinforces Malaysia’s commitment to responsible trade and its vision for a greener global economy”.
He added, “the anticipated rise in healthcare investments, driven by initiatives such as the UAE Vision 2040 and Saudi Vision 2030, present immense export opportunities for Malaysia. These plans aim to expand private healthcare sectors and solidify the GCC countries status as a medical tourism hub. Arab Health 2025 will help Malaysian companies tap into this potential by showcasing their capabilities and forging new partnerships”.
Malaysian healthcare products, particularly in the medical devices segment, are recognised globally for their quality and affordability. Malaysia is among the world’s leading exporters of medical gloves and catheters, which are pivotal in the healthcare landscape. Such attributes have made Malaysian solutions a top choice among international buyers seeking excellence and value.
For 2024, Malaysia’s global exports of medical devices rose double digit at 31.6% to RM37.03 billion as compared to 2023. Major export destinations for Malaysian medical devices were the United States of America (USA), Belgium, Germany, Singapore and Japan. These markets accounted for more than 60% of Malaysia’s total exports of medical devices.
