FRIDAY, 28 MARCH 2025, TOKYO, JAPAN – The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), Malaysia's national trade promotion agency, proudly announces the resounding success of Malaysia's participation in the landmark 50th edition of FOODEX Japan 2025, Asia's premier food and beverage trade exhibition held from March 11-14, 2025 at Tokyo Big Sight.

MATRADE led a strong Malaysian delegation comprising 11 dynamic companies alongside the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA), showcasing the nation's premium Halal-certified food and beverage products. The Malaysian Pavilion served as a vibrant showcase of the country's diverse offerings, featuring an impressive array of confectionery, snacks, cookies, premium tropical beverages, seafood, bird's nest products and Halal-certified coffee and processed poultry (duck) products.

The Malaysian Pavilion served as a vibrant hub, spotlighting Malaysia's diverse and high-quality Halal food and beverage offerings. Attendees were treated to a wide array of products, including delectable confectionery, snacks, cookies, premium tropical beverages, seafood, bird nest and coffee, all produced in adherence to the strictest Halal standards.  

Organised by the Japan Management Association (JMA), FOODEX Japan 2025 reaffirmed its position as the world's third-largest food and beverage trade fair, attracting 76,183 trade visitors from 70 countries and regions. The event featured participation from 3,000 exhibitors across 3,800 booths, including 2,000 international companies, making it a truly global marketplace for food industry professionals.

Malaysia's 20th participation in FOODEX Japan proved to be exceptionally fruitful, generating RM1.2 million in actual sales and an impressive RM263.13 million in potential sales. This brought the total sales generated to a remarkable RM264.39 million, significantly surpassing the initial target of RM40 million. Malaysian exhibitors also secured 313 trade enquiries, demonstrating strong engagement from trade visitors. The top five products in terms of interest were biscuits & cookies, processed poultry (duck) products, seafood, confectionery, and snacks.
