Malaysia Brings Green Rubber and Advanced Plastics Innovations to K 2025 in Düsseldorf
KUALA LUMPUR, 6 OCTOBER 2025 (MONDAY): – Malaysia will make a significant presence at K 2025, the world’s No. 1 trade fair for plastics and rubber, taking place from 8 to 15 October 2025 in Düsseldorf, with 12 Malaysian companies and 30 representatives led by MATRADE. This marks MATRADE’s sixth participation at the fair, underscoring the nation’s consistent drive to showcase its innovation, quality, and sustainability capabilities o the global stage.
Held in Düsseldorf, K 2025 will gather over 3,000 exhibitors and more than 225,000 trade visitors from around the world, reaffirming its position as the premier platform for innovation and business in the plastics and rubber industry. The 2025 edition also commemorates the fair’s 71st anniversary.
Anchored on the theme “The Power of Plastics! Green, Smart, Responsible,” Malaysian exhibitors will highlight a wide range of solutions, from acrylic sheets for creative and commercial applications to specialised materials for flexible packaging and film extrusion. Several companies are also introducing sustainable materials, biodegradable and compostable resins, as well as recycled-content solutions — reflecting the industry’s embrace of circular economy practices.
Mr. Idzham Abdul Hamid, Director of Oil & Gas, Chemical and Energy Section of MATRADE states that Malaysia’s participation underscores its commitment to advancing sustainability in the global plastics industry.

He added that Malaysian participants are committed to reducing waste, adhering to international environmental standards, and incorporating recycled materials to support multinational clients in achieving their sustainability objectives.
Germany continues to be Malaysia’s largest trading partner in EU, with bilateral trade reaching RM64.64 billion in 2024. For the period January–August 2025, trade with Germany grew by 3.6% to RM22.45 million, with plastics and rubber products contributing significantly.
