TUESDAY, 28 MAY 2024, KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and DISINI Work Sdn Bhd signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on a collaboration in gig economy platform, disiniwork.com.

The MoU aims to boost outsourcing job offerings from abroad via disiniwork.com, leveraging MATRADE's extensive global network. According to MATRADE’s CEO, Datuk Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz, the MoU will result in a greater level of collaboration between both organisations, which in turn will accelerate exports of services in the form of outsourcing jobs rendered by Malaysian gig workers registered in disiniwork.com platform to overseas clients. MATRADE is committed to assisting gig workers, including young graduates and students to access employment opportunities worldwide, hence growing higher-income jobs within gig economy.

This bodes well with the objective of the New Industrial Master Plan (NIMP) 2030, launched by YAB Dato' Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim in September last year. “Under the NIMP 2030, Global Business Services (GBS) including Information Technology Outsourcing (ITO) and Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) is one of the key focus sectors that could help enhance Malaysia’s exports of more complex products and services,” Datuk Mohd Mustafa pointed out.

“The collaboration between DISINI Work and MATRADE is a bold move that will benefit the industry, government, academic institutions and primarily, the youths of this nation.  With this partnership, Malaysia shall be the global hub and regional preference, for digital services delivered by our talents, meeting the required international standards. With MATRADE's long-standing experience in promoting local products and services globally, we foresee with full confidence, disiniwork.com platform could contribute significantly to the export of services in coming years,’ said Abbyamir Sapie, CEO of DISINI Work Sdn Bhd.

The MoU, signed by Datuk Mohd Mustafa Abdul, CEO of MATRADE and Abbyamir Sapie, CEO of DISINI Work Sdn Bhd, took place in a ceremony held during the networking session of MATRADE’s International Sourcing Programme (INSP) at the Malaysia Sourcing Pavilion, SEMICON Southeast Asia (SEA) in MITEC, Kuala Lumpur.
