Hyrax Oil was incorporated in 1989 by Dato’ Hazimah Zainuddin as a trading company to distribute automotive lubricants and spare parts. In the early 1990s, Hyrax Oil started to distribute Hyrax brand lubricants that were brought in from Chunmi Lubricants Co. Ltd of South Korea until its brand new manufacturing facility in Klang was established and began operating to produce its own products in 1995.

Today, the products of Hyrax Oil have been exported to more than 35 countries. Hyrax Oil is now co-branded with two national oil companies in Sri Lanka & Mozambique. The brand carries a symbol of a successful Malaysian product recognised for their excellent quality, and world class performance and approvals such as API (American Petroleum Institute), ISO 9001:2008, Malaysian Brand, and IEC.

Hyrax Oil produces all ranges of lubricants for various applications in automotive, industrial, marine and power industries. Hyrax’s products have been formulated to meet international standards whilst catering for customers specific local requirements. The company uses only virgin raw materials supplied by reliable brands to produce products of high quality at a reasonable price.

Hyrax Oil began marketing its products overseas in the late 1990s to South Asian countries such the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. The company later expanded its market to various countries such as African countries, Australia, and New Zealand. Today, Hyrax Oil has secured a contract to supply its products to main National Oil Companies in countries like Sri Lanka (2008) and Mozambique (2009) with more countries being targeted for similar arrangement. All of the lubricant products of Sri Lanka and Mozambique are sourced exclusively from Hyrax Oil.
