KPJ Healthcare Berhad is Malaysia’s leading home grown healthcare group in Malaysia. In 1981 it began with a single hospital, and in 2002 the company underwent an internal restructuring, consolidating and streamlining the company’s healthcare activities. Since 2006 the company has added 21 hospitals, 1 college building, and 1 aged care center, accounting for RM1.1 billion in assets. In 2013, KPJ has served 2.6 million patients.

KPJ Healthcare offers a wide range of medical services, including curative care, preventive medicine, and health promotion strategies, enabling KPJ to take care of a full spectrum of patients. In addition to healthcare services, the company has also invested in higher education by opening the Puteri Nursing College, the first nursing school in Malaysia to offer a full 3-year diploma recognized by the National Nursing Board, as well as the KPJ Healthcare University College for post graduate medical programs.Revenue from the group’s Medical Tourism segment currently accounts for less than 10% of KPJ’s annual revenue, but the company plans to expand this number to 25% by the year 2020 by increasing marketing and promotional efforts in Asia, Australia, and the Middle East. Today the majority of KPJ’s international patients reside in Indonesia. KPJ also has a presence in China, Bangladesh, the Middle East, and some African countries.

There are two things that patients remember about KPJ Healthcare Group. First, the group is Malaysia’s largest healthcare provider. This has led to the group’s recognition as a trusted healthcare provider. Second, KPJ is known for their multi-disciplinary specialist hospitals, ensuring that patients will receive the expertise and care that they need.
