PTP TERMINAL PIC 001

Port of Tanjung Pelepas (officially registered as Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd, and commonly referred to by its acronym, PTP) is Malaysia’s largest and busiest transshipment hub with the capacity to handle 13 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) annually.

PTP TERMINAL PIC 002

PTP is located strategically at the confluence of one of the world’s busiest straits, the Straits of Malacca, and is very close to international shipping routes. Having minimal tidal restrictions and a wide access channel for two-way traffic to and from the port, it takes shipping vessels only 45 minutes to divert into the port. With draft ranging between 15m-18.5m, PTP is fully capable to serve new generation of mega container vessels, such as the Triple E container vessels and ultra large container vessels (ULCVs).

PTP TERMINAL PIC 003

PTP is a joint venture between MMC Ports (70%), a member of the MMC Group that operates major strategic gateways and transshipment hubs in Malaysia for international trade and commerce, and APM Terminals (30%), a premier global ports group with facilities in 64 key locations around the globe.
