MATRADE’s primary functions, namely promotion of Malaysian exports and development of products and services are the central basis of its structure, which enables MATRADE to provide a customer centric service.
MATRADE's Business Strategic Plan (BSP)

MATRADE's Business Strategic Plan (BSP) provides the strategic plan to govern the organisational direction of MATRADE towards transforming the organisation into a credible, client centric and value creating Trade Promotional Organisation (TPO).
The BSP will be used as a tool to position MATRADE as an effective trade promotion agency and to provide an important platform for MATRADE to improve its core business areas and operational processes including identifying appropriate measures to remedy any weaknesses.
Under the BSP, MATRADE will adopt and implement 6 Strategic Pillars (SP) containing 20 Strategic Initiatives (SI). These strategic initiatives cut across various areas of the organization, ranging from exporters development and export promotion, information and communication technology, human capital development and processes improvements.

ICT Strategic Plan (ISP)

MATRADE ICT Strategic Plan charts the strategic direction for the implementation of ICT in MATRADE. The formulation of the ICT strategic direction which inlcludes the ICT vision, mission and strategic thrusts is alligned with MATRADE's business strategies and Public Sector ICT Strategy.
MATRADE MS ISO 9001:2015 Certification
ISO Certification for Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE)
MATRADE has been successfully awarded the MS ISO 9001:2015 certification which effective from 17 August 2022 until 6 October 2025.
The efforts to acquire this certificate are intended to improve MATRADE’s delivery system where it assisted MATRADE in identifying the deficiencies in its operations as well as providing corrective measures in managing issues. Quality Management System (QMS) also ensures that MATRADE best practices are documented for future reference and perusal.
Implementation scope of MATRADE QMS covers export promotion programs that consist of four (4) major activities of MATRADE including:
International Trade Fair (TF)
Export Acceleration Mission (EAM)
Malaysia Export Exhibition Centre (MEEC)
Exporters Training Program
In addition, the implementation of MATRADE QMS also supported by several supporting activities including:
