PART 4
CE-Marking
18
• The date of issue of the declaration, including a signature of the
manufacturer or authorised person;
• A statement to the effect that the declaration has been issued under
the sole responsibility of the manufacturer and, if applicable, the
authorised representative.
The declaration of conformity should be kept for at least ten years
and should be written in one of the official languages of the EU (see
textbox for a model declaration of conformity as described in the PPE
directive). If several directives apply to one product, you may merge
all the declarations into one single document.
Please also note that directives relating to, for instance, machinery, gas
appliances, potentially explosive atmospheres and elevators, require
that these products are also accompanied by the EC declaration of
conformity. The declaration of conformity should in these cases be
drawn up in the official language of the country of use. As an exception,
the directive relating to toys does not require an EC declaration of
conformity.
