In recognitionofHyraxOil’s highquality, excel-
lent and distinctive products, they are one of the
few recipients of the National Mark of Malaysian
Brand Award. Other award accolades bagged by
HyraxOil include theMalaysianBusiness Awards,
the Industrial Excellence Award, Ernst & Young
Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Award and
the Enterprise 50 Award for being in the top ten
companies of 2012.
Their dedication andunparalleled commitment
to the petroleum industry has also gained global
recognition, with the awarding of several pres-
tigious certifications such as from the American
Petroleum Institute (API), MTU Friedrichshafen
GmbHand theEuropeanAutomobileManufactur-
ers Association (ACEA).
MATRADE’s Assistive Role
Therewere a lot of challenges and initial resistance
that Hyrax Oil faced when the company started
to venture into the export business. Competition
was stiff, especially from the more well-known
branded products.
MATRADEprovided solid support toHyraxOil
since1992, when the companywas still in the trad-
ing business. Assistancewas renderedonproducts
and documentation procedures. Subsequently,
HyraxOil began to travel withMATRADEon trade
missions to ASEAN countries.
On their first ASEAN Trade Mission to the
Philippines, Brunei, Indonesia andThailand – the
company managed to penetrate all four of the
country markets. From then on, it registered to
participate inmany more missions.
