is a new tool introduced by MATRADE in
2013 targeted at foreign buyers and MATRADE
offices abroad. All directories published by
MATRADE are available in E-Book format and users
are able to view and download the E-Book anytime
and anywhere.
Trade Leads
, a weekly compilation of import
enquiries from overseas buyers looking for
Malaysian products or services is disseminated to
all MATRADE members via email. It is also made
available in myExport portal.
A quarterly newsletter,
BIC Insight
provides all
MATRADE members via email, updates on new
addition available at the centre. The information
includes market reports, country information,
directories, statistics, tariffs, online databases and
useful websites.
Electronic Publications
FTA Focal Point
MATRADE continued its efforts to increase the
awareness of Malaysian business community, in
particular SME exporters, on the benefits of Free
Trade Agreements (FTA). One avenue was done
through FTA @ INTRADE 2013 during INTRADE
Malaysia 2013 held in Kuala Lumpur. Visitors to
the MATRADE FTA information kiosk were briefed
on the opportunities available under each free trade
agreement that Malaysia had signed and how the
business community can benefit through building
economic linkages between Malaysia and FTA
partner countries.
BIC Digest
is a bi-annual newsletter distributed to all
MATRADE officers via email. It includes BIC activities,
user and visitor statistics and list of published
directories, brochures and magazines.
Business Information Dissemination Service
(BIDS)
is a bi-weekly current awareness service which
alerts MATRADE officers with latest available resources
and articles on specific topics available at the BIC.
MATRADE Online News
is an e-newsletter which is
circulated to all MATRADE members every fortnightly.
This e-newsletter features information on upcoming
trade events organised by MATRADE, updates on
overseas trade regulations, market alerts and trade
opportunities in the global market. A total of 24 issues
had been published and circulated by MATRADE in
the year 2013.
MATRADE received on a regular basis, online enquiries through
. In 2013, a
total of 4,641 trade enquiries were received and processed accordingly. Majority of the enquiries were
on sourcing for specific Malaysian products and services by foreign buyers. These enquiries were
disseminated as swiftly as possible to exporters and service providers listed in the Malaysian Exporters
Registry (MER). Requests from Malaysian companies included listing of overseas and local trade events,
information on Market Development Grant (MDG) and information on export facilitation such as tariff,
duty, rules & regulations and export documentations, process and procedures.
MER, is a database developed by MATRADE to assist Malaysian companies, in particular SMEs cultivate
their foreign business linkages. It also enables MATRADE to engage with the business community
through dissemination of information, knowledge and insight on trade issues, market intelligence, trade
promotion programmes and exporters development activities. Registration is complimentary.
The Registry grows in numbers every year. In 2013, a total of 2,039 companies registered with
MATRADE making the cumulative figure to 12,671 companies.
