Held for the second consecutive year, the
Arts Kuala Lumpur -Melbourne themed
as 'DiscoverMalaysianArts' was an
embodiment of MATRADE’s effort to promote
Malaysian art.A total of 44 art pieces from
14 renowned and upcomingMalaysian
artistswere exhibited at Space@Collins for
a duration of 12 days.Twenty-six art pieces
were sold to 15 buyerswith sales of RM0.78
million generated.Various activitieswere
carried out to promote the events including
media interviews, social media promotion,
distribution of posters, leaflets and streamers.
The buyers profile revealed that 40%were
Australian citizens of Malaysian descent, 25%
wereAustralian citizens of Chinese descent,
20%wereAustralianswhile another 15%
wereMalaysians residing inAustralia.
TheMalaysiaArt Showcase held at LaGalleria Pall Mall featured
50 art works from 10 contemporaryMalaysian artists.The artists
were a combination of keymiddle generation artists and emerging
artists such asAhmad Zakii, Jai, I-lann,Ai-Lei and Zung.The art
show enhanced Malaysia’s presence in the United Kingdom,
complementing other activities in the UK such as theMalaysian
Kitchen Programme (MKP).MATRADE also organised the Buy Night
programmewhichwas hosted and sponsored by Balai Seni Visual
Negara (BSVN),MercyMalaysia UK and Battersea.The Buy Night
programmeswas considered successful in attractingmore collectors
to inquire and buyMalaysian artworks.
The event attracted a total of 660 visitors including art collectors,
corporate individuals, gallery owners,members of art associations,
restaurant owners, professionals, academicians, photographers,
curators, journalists and tourists. 16 art workswere sold at a
cumulative price of RM217,211while 13 other artworks had received
serious enquiries.

MalaysianArts’.Acara ini adalah usaha
MATRADE dalammempromosikan seni
Malaysia. Sebanyak 44 karya seni daripada
14 pelukisMalaysia yang terkenal telah
dipamerkan di Space@Collins selama 12
hari. Sebanyak 26 karya seni telah dijual
kepada 15 pembeli dengan nilai berjumlah
RM0.78 juta. Pelbagai aktiviti telah diadakan
untukmempromosikan acara tersebut
termasukwawancaramedia, promosi di
media sosial, pengedaran poster dan risalah.
Profil pembeli pada acara itu adalah 40%
wargaAustralia yang berasal dari Malaysia,
25%wargaAustralia yang berasal dari China,
20%wargaAustralia asal manakala 15%
lagi adalah rakyat Malaysia yangmenetap di
Australia.
MalaysiaArt Showcase yang diadakan di LaGalleria Pall Mall
menampilkan 50 karya seni dari 10 pelukis kontemporari Malaysia.
Artis-artis ini menampilkan gabungan artis generasi pertengahan dan
artis baru seperti Ahmad Zakii, Jai, I-Lann,Ai-Lei dan Zung. Pameran
seni ini mempertingkatkan lagi visibiliti Malaysia di United Kingdom
sertamelengkapi aktiviti-aktiviti sedia ada yang dianjurkan di negara
ini seperti Malaysia Kitchen Programme (MKP).MATRADE juga
menganjurkan, programBuy Night yang dianjur dan ditajakan oleh
Balai Seni Visual Negara,MercyMalaysia UK dan Battersea. Program
Buy Night ini telah berjaya dalammenarikminat beberapa pengumpul
seni untukmenghargai sertamembeli karya seni Malaysia.
Acara ini telahmenarik seramai 660 pengunjung di kalangan
pengumpul seni, individu korporat, pemilik galeri, ahli-ahli persatuan
seni, pemilik restoran, profesional, ahli akademik, jurugambar, kurator,
wartawan dan pelancong. Sebanyak 16 karya seni telah dijual dengan
nilai terkumpul sebanyak RM214,210manakala 13 lagi karya seni
mendapat perhatian serius daripada beberapa pengumpul karya seni.
