Di seluruhAustralia terdapat lebih dari 220
restoranMalaysia dan ini menyumbang
kepadaminat yang lebihmendalam terhadap
masakanMalaysia di kalangan rakyat
Australia.
Dalam jangkamasa lima tahun kebelakangan
ini, eksport produkmakananMalaysia ke
Australia telah berganda dari RM491 juta
pada tahun 2010 kepada RM1.2 bilion pada
tahun 2014. Kini terdapat lebih dari 200
produkmakananMalaysia yang dijual di
pasaraya utama di Australia seperti Coles dan
Woolworth, peruncit persendirian seperti IGA,
LaManna danColonial serta di lain-lain kedai
runcit Asia.MKP telahmempertingkatkan
usaha kerjasamanya dengan pengimport
produkmakananAsia di Australia dan salah
satu daripadanya adalahOriental Merchant
yang telahmengenal pasti lebih dari 20
produk barumakananMalaysia untuk
pasaran.
Salah satu aktiviti kempenMKP di Australia
adalah untukmendidik rakyat Australia
mengenai keistimewaanmasakanMalaysia.
Resepi masakanMalaysia serta demonstrasi
memasak telah dimuat naik di atas talian dan
demonstrasi memasakmakananMalaysia
juga telah dianjurkan di beberapa acara luar,
di dalam pasaraya serta kedai runcit.Melalui
usaha ini, rakyat Australia bolehmenikmati
masakanMalaysia sertamenjadikannya
sebahagian daripada pilihan untuk kehidupan
harianmereka.
Australia hasmore than 220Malaysian
restaurants all over the country and this is a
contributing factor to the growing interest in
Malaysian food amongAustralians.
Within the last five-years,Malaysia’s exports
of food products toAustralia have doubled
fromRM491million in 2010 to RM1.2 billion
in 2014. Currently, there aremore than 200
product lines of Malaysian food products
available inAustralianmajor supermarkets
namely Coles andWoolworth, independent
retailers such as IGA, LaManna andColonial
aswell as at other oriental andAsian stores.
MKP has been intensifying its collaboration
with importers of Asian food products in
Australia, one of which is Oriental Merchant,
who has identified over 20 newMalaysian
products lines to be introduced into the
market.
Under theMKPAustralia campaign, the locals
will be educated onMalaysian cuisine and its
specialty.Malaysian food recipes and cooking
demonstrationsweremade available online
while other promotions including cooking
demonstration at events aswell as in-store
promotion at supermarkets and other retail
outlets.Through these efforts,Australians
could learn to embraceMalaysian cuisines
and integrate them in their daily lives.
