Malaysia’s trade with North America declined by
0.8% to RM114.72 billion, representing 8.4% share to
Malaysia’s total trade. Exports to the region decreased
by 4.9% to RM60.58 billion while imports expanded
by 4.2% to RM54.13 billion.

billion, representing 4.2% share of Malaysia’s total
trade. Exports to West Asia constituted 3.8% of total

Exports to the USA decreased by 4.5% to RM58.06
billion in 2013; contributed mainly by lower exports of
E & E products, optical & scientific equipment, palm oil
and wood products.
Increase in exports were registered for textiles &
clothing, up by 8.7% to RM2.01 billion, chemicals
& chemical products (
8.3% to RM1.75 billion) and
machinery, appliances & parts (
12.2% to RM1.64
billion).
Malaysia’s imports from the USA expanded by 3.9% to
RM50.98 billion, with increase in imports of aircraft &
associated equipment & parts, semiconductor devices
and diodes and transistors as well as petroleum oil.
