Malaysia’s total trade with FTA partners in 2013
expanded 4.9% to RM873.6 billion, representing
63.8% of Malaysia’s total trade.
ASEAN remained Malaysia’s largest trading partner
contributing 42.9% of total trade with FTA partners.
This was followed by PRC, Japan, Republic of Korea
and Australia accounting for 23.3%, 15.6%, 6.5% and
5.2% of total trade, respectively.
Total exports were valued at RM469.6 billion
an increase of 3.5% compared with 2012, and
accounting for 65.3% of Malaysia’s total exports. Total
imports were valued at RM403.9 billion contributing
62.2% of Malaysia’s total imports, an increase of 6.7%
from RM378.44 billion registered in 2012. Major import
sources were the PRC, Singapore, Japan, Thailand
and Republic of Korea.

share at RM65.36 billion; LNG, 8.2% share valued at
RM59.19 billion; chemicals & chemical products with
6.6% share at RM47.72 billion and palm oil with 6.4%
share at RM45.95 billion.
