Epitome in Trade
for Halal Exports
While halal products and services are sought after
by the three billion Muslims spread across the globe,
there is now a growing acceptability by non-Muslims
as well. Global market value for trade in halal food
and non-food products is estimated at USD2.77
trillion annually. Leading the charts are processed
food and beverages, pharmaceuticals, bakery
products, primary meat, cosmetics and personal
care.
Malaysia has a competitive edge in the development
of the halal industry. With an open economy, a well
developed physical institutional infrastructure to
support the industry, over the last decade Malaysia
has gained global recognition as a leading Global
Halal Hub.
